Friday was a day for Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress but the Saturday morning has brought a stunner for those who were thought that Maha Aghadi will form government in Maharashtra. On Saturday morning Devendra Fadnavis of Bharatiya Janata Party has sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Maharashtra along with the surprise package of Ajit Pawar the State President of NCP sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Ajit Pawar betrayed not only Maha Aghadi but his political godfather and NCP Chief Sharad Pawar.
Ajit Pawar, the nephew of Sharad Pawar, had been present last night at a meeting after which the Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress announced an alliance with Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray as Chief Minister.
NCP chief Sharad Pawar claimed the NCP did not support or endorsed Ajit Pawar’s “personal decision”, it is confirmed that the governor was handed letters of support from all NCP MLAs.
The NCP had collected the letters of support from its lawmakers earlier, as had the Shiv Sena and the Congress. Senior NCP leader Nawab Malik stated that the same letters were handed to the governor. “We had taken signatures from MLAs for attendance, it was misused as letter of support a basis for the oath.
